The event is postponed to a yet to be determined date. If you already purchased airline tickets for June 23rd, please attempt to return them. Please direct questions to TheGathering@sojo.net
Food, housing, local transportation, and attendance are all provided free of charge to participants.
Our steering committee solicited and selected rising and established Christian justice leaders from around the world. Although the maximum number of people have already been invited, it is possible that some people may not be able to make it. If you would like to have the steering committee consider you or someone you know, please contact us through the contact page.
Participants are expected to cover their own transportation to Nairobi and any costs not in Nairobi or not directly associated with attending the event. This includes, but is not limited to, additional days spent in Nairobi after the event, visas, souvenirs, room service, food not provided by the event, etc.
Go to the transportation page and look for the section that says "request financial support."
Family members are welcome to attend with you. Participants will be assigned a double room at the hotel. Any additional room charges for extra guests are the responsibility of the guests. Meals and meetings are for participants only at this time. We will let you know if any meals open up for guests.
The current planning is for the in-person gathering focused on relationship building, so we do not plan to broadcast any of the conversations. If a virtual community is created post-event, it may be opened to additional leaders and we will reach back out to those who were unable to attend in person.
If you are a participant, you will receive an email in February with a link to a list of all the participants who have confirmed. At this time you will also have the opportunity to provide a short bio about yourself for others to read.
It will be held at the offices of the Association of Evangelicals in Africa and in the conference rooms of the Silver Springs Hotel. The addresses for these venues are:

Silver Springs Hotel, Arghwings Kodhek Road, Nairobi City, Kenya
Please see our Transportation page.
Go to the housing page.
After the initial hotel reservations are made for the entire group, we will share instructions for how to add additional days to your individual reservation and pass along any discounted rate we received.
Infants/babies are welcome to join their caregiver in the meetings and we will provide nursing facilities onsite if needed. If you have need of childcare for older children, please email us at TheGathering@sojo.net for more information.
Like all major cities, it is advisable to be cautious while in Nairobi. It is recommended that you do not walk anywhere after dark. If you would like to travel to other parts of the city, it is recommended that you take a taxi or Uber.
All of our venues and transportation companies have security plans in place. Please expect to have your bag searched and be waved down by a security wand before entering any public building. Vehicles will also be searched upon entering the hotel and any public location.
As in any big city, with the proper precautions, you should face no issues. If something does happen, please contact Jim Olang (+254721524777) or Catherine Wachira (+254721978407) as soon as possible.
The weather in Nairobi in mid-June will range from 25° to 27° Celsius (mid 70s to low 80s Fahrenheit). Occasional rain showers are possible during this period.
The Kenyan Shilling (KES) exchange rate is about 1 USD = 100 Shillings. ATMs and currency exchange services are available in the Arrivals Terminal. Almost all Kenyan ATMs are connected to the Maestro/Cirrus network.
